SPOTS
If you get a spot on anything (suit, couch, shirt...) first try to put absorbent cloth on each side.
Then water to dissolve.
Later if it is washable put liquid detergent mixed with water on the spot and wash
Never put in dryer or iron until you are sure the spot is gone , Heat sets the spot.
The same procedure is true if you have a place where a color has run from another item or even part of the same like a collar.
If article not washable use a commercial spray like K2R (see link on the side) use sparingly and brush gently when dry. Repeat as needed.
A cheap spot remover for washables is liquid detergent mixed with water, for blood a little hydrogen peroxide directly or added to the mix, for grease ammonia
The key is patience don't rush the procedure. Too much detergent or spot remover then becomes the problem to get out
Many dry clean only can be washed with care like silk scarves and suit pants.
